3 BEDROOM PRE-BUILT HOME - HAWKE’S BAY
Rebuilding after Cyclone Gabrielle
Originally a lifestyle property built in 1920 with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
February 14th 2023 forever changed the landscape of Hawke’s Bay, especially for the residents of Waiohiki.
This stunning 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home was built for our client, Karen, after she lost her home in the devastation of Cyclone Gabrielle. From the initial consultation to the final installation, we worked closely with Karen to ensure every detail aligned with her vision. Losing your lifetime’s worth of belongings and memories is a feeling Pure Homes Director, Jeanne Jacobs, knows well. So it was important to both Jeanne and Karen to pay homage to the original property, by salvaging and reclaiming the stone bench top and kitchen handles from the original kitchen. The result is a beautiful, functional transportable house that Karen can, so deservedly, call home again.
"Pure Homes was able to build our house in a short period of 3 months which was very appealing and ideal."
We lost our home as a result of the floods caused by Cyclone Gabrielle in February 2023. Initially we hadn't considered building off-site until we came across Pure Homes. The idea that the house was being built off-site, while we could still focus on our property to get it in order, was perfect. Jeanne and Tim and their team were amazing. Nothing is impossible with numerous options available. Jeanne's creativity, planning and insight into possibilities and Tim's high level of craftsmanship were formidable and reassuring. The stress free process of building was made fun, easy and affordable, with a home built to a very high standard."

A note from Jeanne
Having experienced the devastation of a home fire, started by an arsonist, during high school, I profoundly understand the overwhelming sense of loss and displacement caused by any event beyond your control.
After the fire rendered us without a home, we were placed in accommodation services by our local council and moved around for a time until insurance came through. Although our home hadn’t completely burnt down, the smoke damage was catastrophic. The reality of losing a lifetime's worth of belongings and memories, with the remnants fitting into a single black rubbish bag is a feeling I remember well.
This personal experience has instilled in me a deep empathy for others facing similar hardships and a strong commitment to helping them rebuild their homes and, ultimately, their lives.
